A two-day international women’s entrepreneurship conference is starting tomorrow Wednesday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the capital. Women entrepreneurs, professionals and experts from 50 countries will participate in it. Apart from this, about four thousand women entrepreneurs from different parts of the country will participate in the conference directly and virtually. Speaker Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury is scheduled to inaugurate the conference.
Bangladesh-India Business Council (BIBC), an organization of women entrepreneurs, organized the conference. And Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) is cooperating in this arrangement. On the occasion of the conference, BIBC and BIDA organized a press conference at BIDA office on Tuesday. In the press conference, the organizers said that the conference has been organized to connect domestic women entrepreneurs with international women entrepreneurs.
BIDA Executive Chairman Lokman Hossain Miah said in the press conference that women entrepreneurs across the country are creating self-employment by joining businesses as well as jobs. New initiatives are being created. Women entrepreneurs will get more encouragement through this conference.
BIBC president Mantasha Ahmed said that a strong network of women entrepreneurs of the country will be created through the exchange of experience with global women entrepreneurs at the conference. This will increase the opportunities of women entrepreneurs of this country in the global arena. He said that successful women entrepreneurs and organizations of several sectors will be honored in the conference.
The organizers said that Planning Minister MA Mannan, Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, Prime Minister’s Chief Secretary Ahmad Kaykaus, BIDA Executive Chairman Lokman Hossain Mia, FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin, President of Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce Harbin Arora Rai. Chairman of Summit Group Muhammad Aziz Khan will present the keynote.
